Product Description
γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) is a cyclic oligosaccharide composed of 8 glucose units connected by α-1,4-glycosidic bonds. Its cavity diameter is larger than that of α-CD and β-CD and can include larger molecules. Therefore, it has unique application value in the medical field.
Product Features
1.Larger cavity size:
This is the most significant feature of γ-CD. Its cavity diameter is approximately 0.75-0.83 nm, which is larger than that of α-CD (0.47-0.53 nm) and β-CD (0.60-0.65 nm).
2. Highly water-soluble:
The solubility of γ-CD in water is much higher than that of β-CD and even α-CD. This means that it can be used to prepare higher concentration preparations and is less likely to crystallize in the body or in the preparation, resulting in higher bioavailability and safety.
3. Excellent security
Compared with β-CD (especially native β-CD), γ-CD has much less damaging effects on cell membranes and is less irritating to muscle tissue.
4. Good biocompatibility:
It is of natural origin and can be degraded by microorganisms in the human colon and eventually metabolized into carbon dioxide and water.

1.Increase the solubility and dissolution rate of poorly soluble drugs
Drug molecules with extremely poor water solubility are included in the hydrophobic cavity of γ-CD, "disguised" as a water-soluble complex, thereby greatly improving the apparent solubility of the drug in water.
2.Improve drug stability
